Pameladevi Govinda

Pameladevi Govinda is a British-born artist who lived and worked in New York City and recently returned to her roots on the island of Mauritius. “Kali Cards & Canvas” gets its name from the Hindu Goddess Kali [pronounced kah-lee]. In Hinduism, the deities take on multiple forms and the one of the fiercest archetypal energy of all is Kali.

For this artist, collage and art has became a means of expression around themes of growth, heartbreak, grief, fear, joy, love, mythology and the esoteric arts. She leans into Tantra and the Occult to produce her work. The line between art and spiritual practice becomes increasingly blurred. Her work has been exhibited in Brooklyn, NY during the Gowanus Open Studios in October 2023. She has an upcoming solo exhibition at Lakaz Flanbwayan in Medine, Mauritius (August 24-September 1st, 2024).
